Free Leads! No, Don’t Use Bulk Mail Lists

I’m sure you’ve seen those advertisements that read something like: “1,000,000 email addresses for $39.99”. These bulk mail companies even offer you these names on a CD shipped to your doorstep, ready to upload (or so they say).

Sure, having 1,000,000 subscribers is the best thing that could ever happen to any Internet Marketer, but unfortunately, it is a case of “too good to be true”.

What many newbies don’t know is that these bulk companies often harvest the email addresses using robots and other malwares via the Internet. That is how the 1,000,000 email addresses generally come about, whatever the selling price is.

Now, the really bad part is that if you purchase the so-called 1,000,000 names even at a low price, not only is it a waste of money, you are risking being accused of spamming. It is no longer a surprise how you frequently receive spam emails on Viagra, OEM Software, get-rich-quick schemes, and things you do not even need in your inbox. That is possible because, of the 1,000,000 names, no one knows you or even asked to be subscribed to your mailing list, and you will be a “spammer”.

Even if the company is offering you “Double Opt-In” leads, they did not opt in to your list.

There are also companies which offer free leads, say 2,000 per week. They, too, should be considered unusuable by you. Virtually all autoresponders online do not allow you to upload such addresses. Sure, you can get an autoresponder script and handle it all yourself, but why?

First off, not all 1,000,000 email addresses are really viable because a portion of them can either be owned by the same person or business or are obsolete and no longer in use.

Secondly, your webhost can and will shut down your site if you are accused of spamming.

But most importantly, as a result of spamming, legislation has been enacted in many countries, such as the CAN-SPAM Act in the USA. Emailing to someone who has not requested your email can get you fined, put out of business, or even jailed. Even emailing to your own list requires certain protections nowadays, such as a way to unsubscribe and identification of the sender.

When you read such ads or see such sites again, tell yourself that it is a waste of time and money. Take the time and effort (there are those 2 words again!) to build your list yourself.

Unless you want to go to jail. Makes it kinda hard to run your business, though.

4 Free Ways To Generate Traffic To A New Website

Now that you have your new website, you are itching to start making some sales! But, how can you make sales if you do not have high volumes of traffic to your website?

One of the challenges which people starting a new online business face is that of getting traffic to their website. This article outlines four important steps you must follow to start generating some traffic to your website, and they’re all free!.

1. Have unique content on your website. Search engine robots look at all websites on a regular basis looking for sites with fresh, new, and unique content. So it is important for you to have new and high-quality content which will get your website quickly indexed by search engines. To get started, you can rewrite some Private Label Rights (PLR) content. Don’t just use PLR content “as-is”. Remember, unique fresh content will help you get noticed by the search engines.

2. Have all your keywords on your website. It is important that you have all the relevant keywords and phrases that relate to your topic on your web pages and in the articles you post on your website. Pay attention that your titles use some keywords, too. Search engines look for this. This will increase your website ranking on search engines. That  means that your website will rank higher when people type keywords relating to your topic on search engines. You are therefore more likely to get visitors coming to your site via the search engines. When people visit your website, high-quality content will make people spend more time on your site. They will begin to trust you as a source of reliable information.  Ultimately, they will buy some of the products or services you offer or discuss on your website or blog.
   

3. Because your website is new, you must submit it to search engines. Submitting your URL to the search engines is an important step towards getting more visitors because it means your website will be visible from search engines. Having your website URL on search engines means that when people look for information relating to your topic on these search engines, they will find your website. Nowadays, blogs generally are found quickly if you use a feed service such as Feedburner.
   

4. Exchange some website links with websites that have a high popularity rank (PR). Exchanging links with popular and related websites is an effective way to drive traffic to your website, and improve the raking of your site. You will get some traffic coming to your website through other websites that you have linked to. However, the best free way to get these back links to your site is article marketing. In short, again rewrite some of your PLR content and submit it to article sites, putting a slightly or completely different article on each one. Each site will let you enter your author’s info, including that all-important link back to your site. Yes, I know it’s work, but you have to decide if this is just a hobby or a business. If you want to succeed, you must do some work.
   

By following the 4 free ways outlined above, you will realize that increasing your website traffic is not hard to do. All you need to do is to follow these steps and you will soon see an increase in traffic to your website which will eventually mean a lot of sales and online profits for you from your internet business.
